HAMILTON — During the second semester, 17 Preble County seniors have been traveling to Kettering Heath Hamilton Hospital for several job shadowing experiences.

Students have had the opportunity to choose experiences in many different areas including radiology, cancer care, ICU, emergency, surgery, family birthing center, and many more.

This is better preparing these students for their futures in the health care industry by having the opportunity to observe and participate in daily health care work.

Students who are participating from Eaton High School are Harmony Atkinson, Anna Betscher, Lauren Guiley, Kelin Hasty, Elise Hewitt, Kaili Hewitt, Morgan Imhoff and Bailey Jerdon. Students from Preble Shawnee High School include McKenzie Bowling, Trevin Brandenburg, Maleigha Buchanan, Maya Elkins, and Emily Templin. Students from Twin Valley South have included Kasey Blair, Anna Collins, Phoebe Downing, and Madalynn Henkes.

Many students have already shared that they are surprised at the pace of health care and the variation of the work on a daily basis. They have also shared that their experiences have already helped them to guide their health care career path choices as they move forward into this career.
