Rotary holds Rural-Urban Day

EATON — On Monday, March 13, the Eaton Rotary Club celebrated Rural-Urban Day at Covenant of Peace Church in Eaton.

Rural-Urban Day is an annual event held to honor the community’s rich agricultural heritage.

This year, FFA students from all five Preble County school districts were invited to attend.

“There was a delicious lunch provided by the church members. They were so welcoming and we appreciated their hospitality,” Rotarian Lisa White reported.

Each year, there is a special guest speaker. This year, State Representative Rodney Creech spoke about his love for his roots as a young farmer, growing up in West Alexandria. He spoke about his time as a township trustee, then commissioner and now State Representative. Creech encouraged the young agriculture students to find something they love doing and make a career of it.
