NEW PARIS — National Trail High School hosted National FFA Secretary Jessica Herr from Pennsylvania on Wednesday, March 8.

Herr spent 80 minutes with National Trail’s FFA students, leading them through an interactive leadership practice where students were challenged to use their minds to navigate critical thinking situations.

“Jessica provided a workshop about setting goals and working hard to achieve goals. Additionally, she was able to learn about Grant Deaton’s popcorn enterprise, which is his supervised agricultural experience, and interacted with elementary students through Junior FFA. In all, this visit impacted over 200 students in our school district,” said Carmen Kennel, National Trail’s PLTW and Agricultural Education Instructor.

“It was recommended for Jessica Herr to visit the National Trail MVCTC FFA by the Ohio FFA Association. This is an honor to host a National FFA Officer as they travel many weeks of the year, all across the country and internationally. She is an amazing representation of the National FFA Organization and struck an interest with many FFA Members,” Kennel concluded.

Herr is the first National FFA representative to ever visit National Trail.
