WEST ALEXANDRIA — Robert Fischer, the current principal of National Trail High School, was hired as the new superintendent of Twin Valley Community Local Schools during a board of education meeting on Monday, Dec. 14.

Clint Moore, Twin Valley’s current superintendent (who also came from Trail) will be retiring at the end of the school year and Fischer will step into his new role on Aug. 1.

He is a resident of Germantown and is looking forward to being much closer to his home.

“It’s a quick jump from here to there and I look very forward to being a part of the community,” Fischer told the board during the meeting.

He has served as the principal at National Trail since 2011 and has served in administrative positions for nearly 12 years. Before his time as a Blazer, he was the principal at New Miami Local School District (grades 6-12) for three years and as an assistant principal at Chamberlain Middle School for four years.

Prior to his time as an administrator, he started out his educational career as a band director for several schools around the area – including Talawanda, Brookville, and as the middle school director for Preble Shawnee.

“We’re hoping we picked a really good gentlemen to help us move forward,” said South board president Jim Pemberton.

Fischer’s contract will be finalized by the TVCLSD Board of Education at the organizational meeting on Monday, Jan. 11.
