South soccer suffers loss to Seton

WEST ALEXANDRIA — The Twin Valley South boys’ soccer team lost to Seton Catholic, 2-0, on Monday, Sept. 26.

“I thought today was our best game that we had played since we tied Miami East,” said South coach Clay Young. “Soccer involves a lot of preparation and being strong mentally. We watch film and try to reflect on mistakes we have made in previous games, in order to continue to get better.”

Despite controlling the tempo of the game, the Panthers were unable to win. South out-shot it’s opponent 22-9.

“We just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net, and sometimes you have those games,” said Young.

“My captains have stepped up and continue to push everyone at practice. I know we have been unlucky in a lot of our games this season, and there were many games I felt that we should have won. We will just take the losses, and learn from our mistakes. We still have a tough league schedule remaining and our sectional tournament. I’m looking for a strong finish from my kids — I feel like we are about to turn the corner to greener pastures.”

TVS was scheduled to play on Thursday, Sept. 29, hosting National Trail.
