LEWISBURG — The Tri-County North golf team faced some tough competition last week, but managed to win three matches en route to preparing for the Cross County Conference tournament coming up next Thursday, Sept. 22.

On Thursday, Sept. 15, TCN beat Tri-Village, 174-191. Medalist Zack Tincher led the Panthers with a low score of 40. Ethan Kelley had a 42 and Brett Booso scored a 45. Brandon Parsons shot a 47, as did Alec Wayman. Bailey Lairson carded a 55.

On Tuesday, Sept. 13, North went up against rival Twin Valley South. TCN won the match, 186-193. Tincher was the low scorer for TCN with a 46, but low medalist belonged to Kelley, who carded a 45. Booso (47), Wayman (48), Parsons (66), and Lairson (51) rounded out the lineup.

Monday, Sept. 12, was a victory for TCN against Bradford, 191-230. Medalist Booso scored a low of 46 for the Panthers.

North is now 6-3 on the season.

“I think we should finish 10-3 in league, and we are hitting on all cylinders coming in to the CCC tournament and sectionals,” said coach Tyler Jewell. “We are expecting to finish in the top three in the CCC, and if we play as a team, should make it to the district tournament as a team — maybe for the first time in school history.”

The Panthers were to travel to Preble Shawnee on Tuesday, Sept. 20, before heading to Stillwater Valley golf course on Thursday for the CCC tournament.
