TCN competes at Valley View Invite

GERMANTOWN — The Tri-County North cross country team participated last Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Valley View Invitational meet.

The boys finished in third place on the day. Bailey Hilt was the top TCN finisher at 19:06, good for ninth place. Brandon Smeltzer was 14th at a time of 20:25. Rounding out the rest of the team were Trenton Napier placing at 16th in 20:35, Ian Alexander in 19th at 21:03, Patrick Timmons at 21st in 22:18, Gregory Ras 29th in 22:49, and Thomas Pudenz at 39th in 25:23.

The girls’ team finished second in the event. Lauren Koenig was the top finisher for the Panthers, who placed sixth in 24:49. Taylor Cooper crossed the finish line in ninth in 26:46. Julia Myers was 15th in 27:57, Hailey Brumley earned 17th in 28:19, Anna Norris was right behind her in 18th in 28:47, Lindsay Owens took 21st in 30:42, and Caitlyn McCullough placed 24th in 32:11.

“Nice small Tuesday meet for us,” said TCN coach Tim Martin. “Nice to run against mainly Division II teams and compete. We have no Saturday meet, so we can get some rest.”

The Preble County Meet awaited the Panthers on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at National Trail High School.
