NT netters lose second CCC game to Newton

PLEASANT HILL — The National Trail volleyball team traveled to Cross County Conference foe Newton High School for its first road match of the season on Thursday night, Sept. 1. The Lady Blazers lost in straight sets, 25-14, 25-12, and 25-19.

Defensively, Risa Griffin led the team with 13 digs. Offensively, Abby Sullivan led the team with three kills and four aces.

“I’m seeing improvement,” coach Joy Yeazel said. “We may not be getting the wins, but we are competitive.”

Trail resumes action on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at New Paris, against Mississinawa Valley. The Lady Blazers are now 1-5 on the season overall, and 0-2 in the CCC standings.
