EATON — On Monday, Aug. 29, the Twin Valley South golf team defeated Covington, 188-215, at the Eaton Country Club.
Nathan Osborn scored the lowest individual score with a 34 on the nine-hole course. He finished 2-under for the day.
Willie Bowman shot a 47; Chance Parks, 54; Cole Petersen, 53; Noelle Bright, 58 and Autumn Newdigate a 55 for South.
“We had a great round of golf tonight,” coach Darcy Robinson said.
“The best we’ve done, top to bottom, all year,” she said. “Nobody, including our number five and number six players, shot above a 58. I’m very proud of our two girls that play, Autumn and Noelle. They have played very well lately, and have shown tremendous improvement. I’m also very happy for Nathan, for shooting 2-under. He’s been knocking on the door of being ridiculous, as far as his golf abilities go”
“He (Nathan) came off the course tonight, after shooting a 34, and mentioned two or three putts that should have fallen for him, but didn’t,” Robinson said. “I can’t wait to see him play a round where everything falls his way and the ball behaves as he wants it to. His skill set on the golf course is just incredible.”
The Panthers were scheduled to play at Miami East on Thursday, Sept. 1 and travel to Franklin-Monroe on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
