MONROE — The Eaton girls soccer team suffered another loss on the season on Tuesday, Sept. 6, when they were shut out 9-0 by the Monroe Hornets in a Southwestern Buckeye League match.

Monroe had complete control of the game from start to finish and handed the Lady Eagles their fourth loss on the season. The Lady Eagles are now 1-2 in SWBL action, and 1-4 overall.

“That is now two tough losses in a row for us, first to Bellbrook, now to Monroe,” said coach Michael Bacher.

“These two teams have caused us the most trouble over the last couple of years,” he said. “But, I feel like the name beats us more than anything, not the team.”

Eaton trailed 6-0 at the half.

“Once again the first 15 minutes were back and forth, both teams having a couple chances early,” Bacher said. “Then Monroe found the back of the net over the top of the outstretched goal keeper Ashlynn Black. After that, they kept coming from Monroe.”

Eaton was scheduled to compete on Thursday, Sept. 8, at Southwestern Division foe Oakwood.
