NT’s Jones breaks school records

CASSTOWN — On Saturday, Aug. 27, the National Trail girls golf team came in fifth out of 10 teams at the Miami East Invite. Makenna Jones led the way with an 18 hole total of 83, with a 37 on the front nine and a 46 on the back nine.

Jones also set two new school records, for nine holes and 18 holes. She finished fourth as an individual.

Jones was followed on the team by Savannah Abner with a 101, Allison Brubaker with a 110, and Makena Laird with a 106.

Carroll had the best individual scorer in Brittney Blaschak, who scored a 37 on the front nine and a 39 on the back nine for a 76 total. Miamisburg won the team event with a team score of 345. Bellefontaine and Carroll tied for second with 366 each.

The girls were scheduled to play Monday, Aug. 29, against Arcanum in a non-CCC match.
