Shawnee to host girls soccer camp

CAMDEN — Preble Shawnee will hold a girls soccer camp for ages 10-14 (incoming fifth through eighth graders) from Monday, July 27 through Friday July 31. The camp will run from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. every night.

All girls from Eaton, National Trail, Preble Shawnee, Tri-County North, Twin Valley South, or other nearby schools are welcome.

The camp will be catered toward experienced soccer players looking to improve individual skills, knowledge of the game, and team play. The focus will be on learning the game and becoming better players and teammates.

The following coaches will be in attendance: Kevin Schaeffer (PSHS Varsity Girls Coach, 4 time Southwester Buckeye League Buckeye Coach of the Year, 3 time Miami Valley Coach of the Year), Chad Newport (TVS Varsity Girls Coach, 2013 CCC Coach of the Year, 2014 Miami Valley Coach of the Year), Taylor Fultz (2010 PSHS Graduate, All-Time PSHS Stat Leader, Wright State Soccer Alum), Lea Withrow-Gray (Asst. PSHS Varsity Coach, 2005 PSHS Graduate), and top PSHS girls soccer players will also be there to assist.

Athletes need to bring a size 5 soccer ball, water, guards and soccer cleats. The cost of the camp is $25 and is due on or before July 27.
