Blazers golf wins one, ties one

NEW PARIS — After finishing third at the Preble County Invitational on Monday, Aug. 8, the National Trail boys golf team earned its first win of the season over SWBL opponent Dixie High School, 184-229.

Leading the way for the Blazers was Bryten Jones who shot a 42 which was the low score for the match. Jones was followed by Isaac Plankenhorn with a 43 and Logan Petitt shooting a 47.

The Blazers are 1-0 on the head-to-head match-ups this season.

On Wednesday, Aug. 10, the team participated in the Covington Kendig Memorial Invitational.

Bryten Jones scored a 95 for the Blazers, Logan Petitt a 98, Chris Brubaker, 96, Dawson Ward, 104 and Brian Harrison, 113.

The Blazers next match was scheduled for Friday, Aug. 12, in the CCC Preview at Stillwater Valley, followed by a Monday, Aug. 15, date against SWBL foe Preble Shawnee at the Liberty Country Club in Liberty, Indiana. Results for the two were unavailable at press time.
