COLUMBUS — On June 3, the 109th OHSAA track and field championships was held at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of The Ohio State University. Tri-County North’s lone contestant in the state tournament was sophomore Hailey Thies who ran in the first heat of the girls’ high hurdles.

Thies participated in the state track meet’s third event in the morning. Her time of 15.89 seconds was good for seventh in her heat, but overall, she managed only 13th place and was eliminated from participating in Saturday’s finals in the event.
