COLUMBUS — State Senator Bill Beagle recognized Ben Sullivan, of National Trail High School, on his 2016 Division III Wrestling state championship last Wednesday, May 4.

Sullivan finished the season with an overall record of 18-1 on his way to winning the state title in the 220-pound weight class.

“Ben’s hard work and determination has paid off as he is the first state wrestling champion in National Trail’s history,” said Beagle. “We expect to see Ben back on the Senate floor next year after winning yet another state championship as a senior.”

The standout wrestler took second place at the state championship his freshman year and third his sophomore year before taking the top spot in Division III this year.
