LEWISBURG — It was a busy, but productive week on the diamond for Tri-County North’s baseball team, as the Panthers racked up four conference wins in four attempts.

With those wins, the Panthers improve to 6-0 in the Cross County Conference. North closed out the week by dropping both ends of a doubleheader at Union County (Ind.) to see its overall record dip to 8-4.

North scored two runs in the seventh on an RBI single by Logan Elmore.

North jumped out to an early lead, scoring five runs in the first three innings.

A sacrifice fly by Sproles, an error, and a bases loaded walk by Colin Whipp during the first inning and a wild pitch and an RBI single by Bo Hendrickson in the second inning sparked the Panthers’ early run production.

Hendrickson was solid at the plate going 3-for-4 and scoring a pair of runs.

North scored two runs in the fifth inning, and again in the sixth.

In the fifth, a two-run single by Liam Downing scored Garrett Woodyard and Whipp.

North closed out CCC play for the week on Friday with a 7-2 win at Bethel.

Hendrickson collected two RBI on two hits for North.

Union County took the lead for good in the fifth, scoring two runs on an error and a groundout.

Three runs in the top of the seventh helped North close the deficit to 7-6. An RBI double by Hendrickson, an RBI single by Downing, and an RBI double by Jordan Overcash sparked rally.

In the second game of the doubleheader North built an early lead, but Union County came back to get the 7-6 victory, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
