Day honored with proclamation

WEST ALEXANDRIA — Alex Day recently received a proclamation from State Representative Jeff Rezabek for being the 2015 outstanding Special Olympic athlete for the Preble County Special Olympics.

“We wanted to congratulate you, Alex. You are a remarkable individual, combining civic concern and dedication, and selfless initiative to become a dynamic member of our community,” said Rezabek.

Day competed in several sports, including basketball, softball and track and field, during the 2015 Special Olympics.

In Rezabek’s proclamation, he stated Day “displayed exemplary athletic skill and courage, decisive leadership and unfaltering devotion to service and achievement.”

“You’ve distinguished yourself as a hard working Ohioan,” he said.

Day received the proclamation on behalf of Rezabek, the State of Ohio, and the Speaker of the House.
