LEWISBURG — The Tri-County North girls basketball team had one game last week, falling to Milton-Union 55-23 at home on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

The Panthers are still a young unit and have struggled producing offense early in the season.

Against Milton-Union, they were outscored 4-11 in the first period before also posting a scoreless third quarter.

In the final period, they did manage to hang with Bulldogs, scoring nine points to their 10 in the frame. The Panthers also managed 10 points in the second quarter as well.

They finished the game with 24 turnovers to only one assist, however.

“We had a low shooting game and could not compete against the height of Milton,” said head coach Jessica Cherry.

North was led by Cassi Stinson, who had 10 points, two steals, and six rebounds. Riley Cruse added six points and four boards while Preston Lipinski chipped in three points. Rounding out the scoring was Chelsey Strawser and Tiarra Alford with two points apiece. Alford also had one block and four rebounds on the night.

The Panthers were scheduled to host Northeastern on Monday, Nov. 30 before traveling to Eaton on Monday, Dec. 7 and then Twin Valley South on Thursday, Dec. 10. They close out that week at home against Arcanum on Saturday, Dec. 12.
