Trail boys’ soccer still searching for first win

NEW PARIS — The National Trail boys’ soccer team continues to search for its first win of the season after losing four games during a busy week.

On Monday, Sept. 21, the team hosted Seton Catholic and fell 9-0.

Goalie Tyler Browning finished with 13 saves on the game as the Blazers were unable to score a goal of their own. Nick Berger led Seton by scoring three goals.

On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the team traveled to Union County (Indiana) and lost 12-1. Cody Volz and Levi Oswald led the way for Union County, each posting a hat trick.

Andrew Willett found the back of the net for the Blazers during the game.

On Thursday, Sept. 24, the team hosted county and league rival Twin Valley South. C.J. Wing found the back of the net but the team was unable to capitalize as it fell 7-1.

Jacob Wells scored twice for the Panthers. Ethan Wells, Bryant Marker, Daniel Page, Aaron McKee, and Josh Chapman each scored a goal of their own for the visiting team.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, Trail traveled to Greenville to take on the Green Wave, who proved to be too much for the Blazers. The team fell 10-0.

Jordan Ernst led Greenville, scoring two goals.

Browning had 24 saves but it wasn’t enough, as the Blazers fell to 0-12 on the season.

The team hosts Preble Shawnee on Monday, Sept. 28, and travels to Middletown Madison on Saturday, Oct. 3.
