Twin Valley South volleyball loses to Bellbrook, takes down Tri-County North

WEST ALEXANDRIA — Twin Valley South volleyball had two matches this week, first against Southwestern Buckeye League powerhouse Bellbrook before taking on Cross County Conference foe Tri-County North.

South traveled to Bellbrook on Tuesday, Sept. 15, losing in straight sets, 25-12, 25-13, and 25-18.

They then continued their road tour, this time just a few miles north on OH-503 as they took on big time rival TCN.

South got off its skid, taking down North in four sets.

TCN captured the first game though, winning 25-22 before South took the next three, 25-10, 25-10, and 25-12.

Abby Beneke led South with 23 kills, 13 digs, seven assists, and two aces. Delaney Adams scored 28 points for North, contributing four aces and five kills while Mylan Crews had 27 assists and two kills.

Madison Wright chipped in 17 digs while going 29 of 34 on serve receive and Emma Fergus had eight kills on the evening.

“(North head coach) Sarah Collins is doing a great job with her girls. You can see the desire and passion in their eyes when they are on the court,” said South head coach Leslie Roberts. “They love playing the game of volleyball and they love this rivalry.”

South was scheduled to host National Trail on Tuesday, Sept. 22 before taking on Miami East at home on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m. The Panthers will also compete in a tri-meet with Northwestern and Preble Shawnee on Saturday, Sept. 26. The game will be at Northwestern High School in Springfield starting at 9 a.m.
