LEWISBURG — Tri-County North girls soccer team ran into rival Twin Valley South on Wednesday, Sept. 2, losing 1-0 to the cross-town Panthers.

“It was a hard fought game. It could have gone either way,” said North head coach Darren Baldasare. “It was pretty even shot-wise. There really is nothing else to say. It was about an even a game as you can get. They scored, we didn’t.”

South’s lone goal came off an Abby Creech free kick from 30 yards out toward the end of the first half.

“There’s not a goalie anywhere that I know that would stop that. It was a beautiful kick. Perfectly placed,” said Baldasare.

They also played Miami Valley earlier in the week, upending them 5-1 for the win.

The Panthes got two goals from Hailey Thies, two from Paige Daughtery, and one from Getter. Thies added two assists while Daughtery, Megan Hemp, and Getter added one apiece.

Helman finished with eight saves in goal.

North will travel to Bethel on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. and will host Northeastern on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m.
