EATON — The Preble County Piranhas winter swim team began Tuesday, Sept. 8. The season will run from September to March and anyone interested will be able to join the team any time during the season.

The Piranhas are open to swimmers from ages five to age 18 and who can swim at least two laps in the pool unassisted. It does not matter what swim level the swimmer is at currently, the Piranhas have a swim group for them.

The program is designed to get swimmers to the highest level possible, including the Ohio state high school championships and national meets for the YMCA and USA swim programs.

There will be a two week tryout to see if a swimmer will enjoy the program. There are several levels of swim groups and there will be a USA swim team. The Piranhas also have a National and National plus group with two hour practices for two to five days a week and a weight program; Gold and Gold Plus group and is a 1.5 hour practice for two to five days a week with a weight program; Silver group is one hour a day with two to five days a week; and Bronze group is two days a week on Tuesday and Thursday.
