Eaton concludes regular season at Bellbrook

SUGARCREEK — Eaton’s boys’ basketball team fell behind early against Bellbrook and was unable to make up the deficit. The Eagles played their regular season finale at Bellbrook High School on Friday, Feb. 17.

Eaton allowed Bellbrook to build a lead in the first half, trailing 13-8 at the end of the first quarter and 32-21 at halftime. Eaton cut into the lead in the third period outscoring Bellbrook 13-9 – but, an even fourth quarter (14-14) gave the home team a 55-48 win.

The Eagles were led by Trevor Pittman and Danny Howard, with 11 points each. Lew Bowser scored nine in the game. Howard led the team with nine rebounds and also had three blocked shots.

Eaton finished the regular season with a 6-16 mark, 0-12 in the SWBL Southwestern Division. The Eagles will play in the OHSAA Division II basketball tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 28. Eaton, the No. 19 seed, will play the winner of the No. 20 Hamilton Ross and No. 1 Trotwood Madison match-up, at 7:30 p.m. at Trent Arena.
