CASSTOWN — National Trail’s girls’ basketball team wrapped up its regular season with a trip to Casstown to play Miami East in a Cross County Conference game.
The Blazers, led by sophomore Evan Byrd’s nine points, struggled offensively, especially in the second half in a 52-24 defeat.
The Blazers were behind 12-7 after the first quarter and trailed just 27-16 at the half.
Trail, though, only managed two points in the third quarter as East extended its lead to 36-18.
With the loss, Trail falls to 10-12 overall and 4-8 in the CCC.
Haley Howard led the Vikings with a game-high 16 points.
Trail returns to action Thursday, Feb. 16 when they meet Miami East again in the opening round of the Division III sectional tournament at Franklin-Monroe High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
