Writer supporting TCN renewal

Editor:

I am writing in support of the upcoming renewal levy for Tri-County North Local Schools (Issue 20.)

While I am an administrator with Tri-County North, my most important role is that of a parent of one our students. My husband and I have made the choice to send our child to Tri-County North since he began kindergarten last year.

As an educator, I understand firsthand how important it is for our children to begin their school career with every advantage. This has been our experience with the teachers, principal, and staff of Tri-County North.

However, it also important that the facilities that our children attend are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Our school building is nearly 30 years old, but the care and attention will allow it to be maintained for many years to come.

Additionally, I know that school safety is paramount in the age we live in, and our recent renovations to create a secure main entrance have made the building more secure.

The permanent improvement levy will not increase taxes and will allow us to continue to support and upgrade any infrastructure that will last more than five years. Additionally, this renewal levy cannot be used for salary or benefits. Therefore, I respectfully ask that our voters renew Issue 20 and support Tri-County North Local School District on Nov. 8.
