The Preble County Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program held a celebration for Breastfeeding Awareness Month at Fort St. Clair on Aug. 18. We had many generous businesses in the community that provided donations for our WIC families. We would like to thank the following businesses: Eaton Nails, Melissa Stephen at Just Teasing, Great Clips, YMCA, Ron’s Pizza, Midway Restaurant, Jiffy Lube & Kyle’s Auto, Subway, Eaton Hometown Furniture, China Wok, Gratis Shell Station, Gratis Eagles, Sheila Adkins, Dollar General Store 1812, and Decorating Den Interiors.

The Ohio Department of Health and WIC Program chose “Breastfeeding Protects: Mom, Baby and Earth,” as their 2016 theme for Breastfeeding Awareness Month. This theme emphasizes that breastfeeding is a sustainable lifestyle choice that protects against illness and disease, and respects and cares for the world we share. Improving the breastfeeding rates in Preble County will lead to a healthier community. Thanks to all who protect and support breastfeeding families.
