Citizens of Preble County:

We, the Preble County District Library Board of Trustees, need to ask the citizens of Preble County to approve a renewal of the levy that the voters of Preble County approved in 2010. A renewal of this 1 mil, 5-year levy, with a cost of $31.50 per year for every $100,000 of property valuation, or $2.63 per month, will be on the November 2015 ballot.

Please don’t regard this as just another tax; consider it an investment for yourself and all the citizens of Preble County. With all the services it has to offer, the library can do so much to enrich everyone’s way of life.

The Library Board of Trustees would like to thank all the citizens who continue to support the Preble County Libraries.

For the citizens who may not have been to the library in a while, “come on down” and check out the many resources that are available to expand your knowledge and other interests. Just want to relax and be entertained? The library can help you with that too. They offer the latest in books, movies, magazines, e-books, e-magazines, and so much more. With a catalog brimming with over 8 million items, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Have you had the opportunity to try the recorded books? One of our board members doesn’t travel anywhere without a good audiobook to listen to and learn from while driving. The trips seem to go faster and there are no commercials. There is a huge selection of titles available and the library can request books from other libraries elsewhere if your title is not available on the shelf.

Audiobooks are only one of the many resources available for all of us to use and enjoy at the many libraries within Preble County.

The library also offers fun programs for children, tweens, teens, and adults, such as Story Time, Family Fun Nights, craft projects, and more every month at each of the library’s branches. Monthly Home School Hour programs offer hands-on activities that enhance home schooling curriculum. The library also offers free access to computers, WiFi, educational databases, meeting room space for nonprofit use, and so much more.

There is something for everyone at the library.

In closing, we are asking all registered voters to please support the library levy renewal request, Issue 27, in November so we can continue to provide all the great library services.

Please remember how much the library does to help all of the citizens of Preble County.
