The Eaton Little League’s Girls 10U Softball All-Star team recently competed in the Ohio District 8 All-Star Softball Tournament championship game.

Coach Jeff Michael said the girls won their first two games against Northridge 19-3 and 13-0. They lost their second two to Englewood 7-4 and 23-20.

They played in the championship game against Englewood and lost 13-10.

Against Northridge, Michael said the team did well with both their pitching and hitting. Against Englewood, Michael said the team hit well but their pitching did not hold up, with too many walks being given up.

Michael said the girls will need to work on their hitting by getting better at judging balls and strikes and swinging at better pitches, as well as work on more consistent pitching.

Michael said the team only had three practices before they played and said it’s good that these girls are playing softball during the summer.

“I think it’s good for the girls to be active,” Michael said.

The team was also coached by Frank Wright. Team members are Kayleigh Michael, Macy Wright, Olivia Baumann, Bailey Jerdon, Claire Sorrell, Erin Bristow, Brooklyn Barker, Sabrina Gramaglia, Kendall Miller, Kyla Mize, Anna Kramer and Jazlynn Elliott.
