Twin Valley South’s girls track team opened the season with a third place finish at Arcanum on Monday, March 31.
The Lady Panthers tallied 100 points. Miami East recorded 148 points to win the meet and the host Trojans scored 115 to finish second in the six-team field.
South’s 3,200-meter relay team of Megan Wright, Madison Wright, Abby Creech and Emily Hutchings won with a time of 10 minutes, 33 seconds. It was the lone win for South.
Other results included: Abby Beneke placed third in the 100-meter hurdles; Alyssa Wysong was third in the 100-meters; the 800 relay team of Alyssa Wysong, Madison Wright, Abby Beneke and Charis Grubbs was second; Megan Wright was second in the 1,600-meters; Beneke was third in the 300 hurdles; Madison Wright was second in the 800 meters; Megan Wright took third in the 3,200 meters; the 1,600-meter relay team of Madison Wright, Emily Hutchings, Megan Wright and Abby Creech was third; Abby Creech placed third in the high jump.
This week South was scheduled to compete at the Blazer Relays on Tuesday, April 8, and travel to Dixie on Thursday, April 10.
Next week, the Panthers will host the Fred Durkle Invitational on Thursday, April 17.
