I grew up in a small town and went to a small school similar to Tri-County North, and I want my children to have the same experiences I did.
We recently moved to Lewisburg so that we could have that small town/school feel. My children are still young, but already involved in many extracurricular activities such as; cheer, softball, soccer, art programs, music programs etc. We will vote yes for the Tri-County North School levy because I want my children to grow up in a community that offers multiple avenues for children to stay active, healthy and out of trouble.
Even though we have only lived here for 2 years I am impressed at the level of education that Tri-County North offers to students. The teachers have been great to work with and very transparent about my child’s progress. In a larger more urban school that doesn’t exist. Students become lost in the shuffle and aren’t given as many opportunities because of the increased number of students. At Tri-County North each student can choose what they want to be involved in after school. If the levy doesn’t pass they will be required to go straight home after school because the school won’t be open in the evenings for anything.
We have gone to several sporting events at Tri-County North and my children have enjoyed watching the upper classmen play. They are looking forward to the day when they can be playing sports for their high school but that won’t happen if you don’t vote yes! My fourth grader is so excited about Camp Kern this year. My younger children won’t be able to experience Camp Kern if the levy doesn’t pass.
I urge you to please vote yes for the Tri-County North School levy so that my children will be given the same opportunities I was given. We need to invest in our youth and give them every opportunity to be successful. Our children need to be given opportunities to build relationships and learn responsibility by being part of a team. I don’t believe our children’s education and school experience should be negotiable.
