Youth who are looking for a fun way to kick off the summer should consider Preble County 4-H Camp. Open to any youth (current 4-H membership is not required) in Preble County who are ages 8 and completing 3rd grade through age 13, 4-H Camp provides several days of fun for an economical price.
The Preble County Youth Development Program, a part of Ohio State University Extension, sponsors 4-H camp each year. Camp will be held at Indian Hills 4-H Camp in Miami County June 8-12. Each year almost 100 campers come together for a week of fun. The camp is staffed by 4-H personnel, volunteer adult leaders and high school age camp counselors. The goal of the Preble County 4-H Camp program is to provide youth an opportunity for growth and development through an outdoor living experience. Sports, swimming, dancing, campfires, games, nature activities and much more are on the schedule.
The cost is $145 per person. This includes lodging, meals, a camp t-shirt, camp picture and program supplies. The registration deadline is Friday, May 23, and is on a first come, first served basis.

Christy Millhouse, Extension Educator for Preble County, said they are very excited to announce an additional opportunity for scholarships for Preble County 4-H Camp. The Preble County Victim Witness program is offering partial and full camp scholarships through the Tyler Caplinger 4-H Camp Scholarship. Tyler generously donated proceeds from the sale of his lamb to the program and this scholarship honors his generous spirit of giving.
The form for this scholarship is available on the Extension website. The scholarships are available to anyone who is eligible to attend camp. Be sure to return the applications directly to the Victim Witness Program. The selections will be made there and recipients notified.
