EATON — Ohio requires certain immunizations for school attendance for children who will be entering kindergarten and the 7th grade. According to Preble County health officials, children entering kindergarten, who are currently up-to-date on their childhood immunizations, are due for their fifth DTaP, fourth Polio, second MMR and second Varicella. Children entering the 7th grade are required to get the Tdap booster.
The Preble County Public Health Immunization Clinic offers these vaccines by appointment on Mondays from 9-11 a.m. and 3-5 p.m., excluding holidays. Parents are encouraged to make this appointment as soon as possible to avoid not being able to get a child vaccinated by the start of the school year.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling 937-472-0087 ext 226 or ext 229, Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The clinic accepts traditional Medicaid and associated managed care plans and Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurances.
