Blood drives scheduled
January is National Volunteer Blood Donor Month and the CBC is recogonizing all blood donors and voluteers who support the Community Blood Center. CBC blood donors save lives in our region every day. We could not meet our needs without our donors and all of the wonderful individuals who coordinate blood drives in their community, their church, their workplace or school. CBC needs about 300 units of blood and platelets from more than 350 donors each day. It remains our mission and responsibility to recuit these donors and provide the services necessary to complete these goals. The first community drive for Preble County will be Thursday, Jan. 30 from 1-7 p.m. at the Eaton Church of the Visitation, 407 E. Main St. All who register will receive the “Blood Donor- Every Drop Counts” red speckled campfire mug. Blood donors are real life heroes because of the sacrifice they make to save the lives of people they may never know! If you are atleast 17 years of age (16 with parental consent), weigh atleast 110 pounds, and meet other donor requirements, you may be eligible to donate blood. For questions or to schedule an appointment go to www.givingblood.org or call 1-800-388-4483. Walkins are always welcome. Make a New Year’s Resolution to be a real life hero in 2014 and donate blood Jan. 30.
