New board members Mike Randolph and Jason Delong were sworn in by the Twin Valley Community Local School Board of Education during their organizational meeting on Monday, Jan. 13.
Board officers were also elected: Sean Maggard was selected president of the bard, followed by the election of Jim Pemberton as vice-president of the board.
The board approved a change of time for the monthly regular meeting, moving it to 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month at Twin Valley South High School.
The board also:
*Heard from Dr. Clint Moore regarding calamity days and potential make-up days. No resolution has yet been reached.
*Approved the appointment of Tim Beneke as the 2014 Legislative Liaison.
*Approved the appointment of Jason DeLong as the 2014 Student Achievement Liaison.
*Approved the appointment of Mike Randolph as the 2014 District Athletic Council Liaison.
*Heard from Kathy Poor, the district’s food service director, regarding meals being served at TVS. She reported the oven in the cafeteria has been repaired for $1,900. The USDA has agreed to permanently remove the grain and protein maximums which had been set the previous year. She noted, the average meal runs $1.12 each.
*Heard from Lee Meyers, maintenance/transportation supervisor, regarding repairs. Meyers reported that lights in the courtyard failed due to a water leak, also lights in the auditorium are experiencing wiring issues which need to be addressed.
