Feather Party


Eaton Lions Club will hold the regular Feather Party at Bruner Arena on the Preble County Fairgrounds on Thursday, April 10, at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit sight conservation and community projects.


TCN Kindergarten


Tri-County North Local SChools will be holding kindergarten registrations the week of Monday, April 14-Thursday, April 17, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., each day at the TCN District Office. This is an open registration so no appointment is needed.


2014-15 kindergartners must be five years old on or before Aug. 1, 2014.


The folllowing must be submitted at the time of registration for all new students: certified birth certificate form the health department. (Hospital birth record is not acceptable); original copies of any child custody orders, decree or modifications of orders relevant to the child; physician’s immunization records; three forms of proof of residency (refer to www.tcnschools.com for a complete list of acceptable forms of proof of residency).

Senior Citizen Dinner


Twin Valley South High School, with the financial support of four local service organizations, will be sponsoring a senior citizen dinner on Tuesday, April 29, at 5:30 p.m. The dinner is free to all senior citizens in the Twin Valley Community Local School District. Reservations may be made by calling the school office at 839-4693 or 839-4688. The deadline for reservations is Monday, April 28. Entertainment will be provided following the dinner. The service groups making the dinner possible are the Alpha Kappa Sorority, Coterie Club, West Alex Lions Club, and West Alex Kiwanis Club.


Preble ESC mtgs.


The regular monthly meetings of the Preble County Educational Service Center Governing Board will be held the fourth Wednesday of each month, with noted exceptions, at the Preble County Educational Service Center, 597 Hillcrest Drive, Eaton, at 6:15 p.m. on the following dates: April 23 (at the ESC Alternative School), May 28, June 25, July 23, Sept. 24, Oct. 22. The board will meet at 5 p.m. on Jan. 22, and will meet Aug. 19, Nov. 19, and Dec. 19. The December meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m.


SWCDB meetings


The Preble Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors conducts monthly Board Meetings at 7 a.m., on the Third Wednesday of each month at the Preble SWCD Office, 1651 N. Barron St., Eaton. Meeting Dates for 2014 will be: April 16, May 21, June 18, July 16, Aug. 20, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 19, and Dec. 17.

Rebekah Lodge breakfast


Somers Rebekah Lodge #125, 230 S. Main St., Camden, will have an “all-you-can-eat” breakfast the first and second Saturdays of each month, with serving from 7-11 a.m. Included in the meal will be sausage, biscuits and gravy, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, pancakes, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $5 for adults and $4 for children.


Collections


It’s time to clean out those closets. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Amvets Post 726 in Eldorado is collecting all gently used toys, clothes and small appliances. Donations will be made to the local Food Bank at Wares Chapel. Items can be dropped off at the Amvets during regular business hours. Bingo from 7 p.m.-closing.


All You Can Eat


The Ladies Auxiliary of Amvets Post 726 in Eldorado is once again having their all-you-can-eat meals. The first Friday of each month, they will be serving from 4:30 p.m. till 7 p.m. Adults are $8 and children are $4. Meals include fish or chicken or both, mac and cheese, green beans, cole slaw, and hushpuppies. Take out also available.


All-you-can-eat breakfast


Camden Masonic Lodge #159 Craft Club sponsors an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet every third Saturday of the month. Serving is between 6:30-11 a.m. on the second floor over the library at 106 S. Main St. A chair lift is available for access if necessary. The menu consists of sausage, eggs, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, apples, potato casserole, coffee, and orange juice. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12.

Regular Meetings of the Board of Education of the National Trail School District will be held on the fourth Tuesday of the month for the calendar year 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at the National Trail School K-12 Facility, 6940 Oxford Gettysburg Road, New Paris.


Sign Language Classes


Memorial Baptist Church will be offering free sign language classes. The class will be on Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:30 p.m. The first class was on Jan. 30. Contact the Church for further information and to sign up at 937-456-2775.
