Local business owner and current Twin Township Trustee Rodney Creech has officially announced his candidacy and will be running in the May 6th primary election for Preble County Commissioner.

Creech says he is running as a “conservative Republican.”

In his announcement, Creech noted: “I am blessed to have the support of my awesome wife Jeanne and two beautiful daughters Ava and Kyla.

“I was born and raised in Preble County and I am very blessed to be the fourth generation to live and work on our family farm. My roots are very deep and that is just one reason why I love Preble County.

“Being raised on the family farm my foundation of honesty, good morals and a strong work ethic were developed.

“After graduating from Twin Valley South High School in 1995, I attended Morehead State University where I obtained a B.S. in Agronomy and Turf Sciences. After graduating from college I worked locally, farmed part-time, and was very fortunate to start a local business, Lawn Plus, in 2005.

“Presently, Lawn Plus employs 12 Preble County natives. The company services Preble County, Wayne County, Indiana and the entire Miami Valley.

“In 2007 I ran for, and was elected to, Twin Township Trustee, where I am currently serving my 2nd term. This position has offered me the opportunity to continuously grow and learn more about our local government. I have regularly attended the Monday and Wednesday commission meetings since January 2013. Over the last several years I have questioned the handling of several key issues such as Goose Creek, the downsizing of the Sheriff’s department, and landfill issues. I believe, with better planning and stronger community representation, these types of issues could be handled in a manner that would better serve us as citizens and local business owners.

“I believe we need a new set of eyes and ears in this county. We need a commissioner with new vision, new energy, a business mind and one who is not afraid to make tough decisions. I am asking for voter support so we, as a community, can work together for these changes.”
