GREENVILLE - A Hollansburg man appeared in court Tuesday morning on a charge involving the growing of marijuana.

Arlis L. Turner pleaded guilty to a sole count of Illegal Cultivation of Marijuana, a felony of the third degree, in the Darke County Common Pleas Court. He was indicted on the charge stemming from an investigation with the Darke County Sheriff’s Office that discovered the illegal cultivation operation on Sept. 25, 2013. According to the indictment, approximately 1,850 grams of the illegal drug was discovered.

Turner is scheduled to appear for sentencing May 12 at 9:30 a.m. following a pre-sentence investigation with the Adult Probation Department. He faces a maximum of 36 months in prison and a $10,000 fine, of which $5,000 is mandatory.

Turner remains free on an own recognizance (OR) bond. He is represented by Greenville defense attorney David A. Rohrer. Darke County Prosecuting Attorney Kelly Ormsby represents the state.
