Bluffton graduates

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University awarded degrees to 254 graduates during its 115th annual commencement ceremony on May 3. Local graduates included: Lewisburg — Emily Broughton, bachelor’s degrees in social work and psychology; New Paris — Joseph Simpson, bachelor’s in sport management; West Alexandria — Kimberly Perry, bachelor’s in public health.

Anderson Dean’s Lis

Sam Judd of Lewisburg along with Gabrielle Grubbs, Rachel Grubbs, Roseanna Reynolds, Dillon Tarr and Kasey Titkemeyer of Eaton made the Dean’s list for the spring semester.

Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana has announced it’s dean list for the spring semester of the 2014-15 academic school year. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn a semester grade point average between 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0.

Jordyn Worley

DEFIANCE — Defiance College recently announced scholarship awards for the 2015-2016 academic year. Awards are given to students in the following categories – Presidential, Dean’s, Pilgrim, Trustee, and Achievement – with dollar amounts ranging from $10,000 to $22,000. Additionally, students can be awarded a Service Leadership Award recognizing their commitment to service in their community, and the DC Marching Band and Music Talent Awards for students excelling in music performance. Students must attend the college’s fall or spring Scholarship Day event to qualify for scholarships.

Among those who have been awarded and have accepted a Defiance College scholarship is the following area student:

Jordyn Worley, Eaton, was awarded the Achievement Scholarship and the Lillian Rae Dunlap Award. Jordyn, daughter of Jodi Worley and Rick Worley, is a student at Eaton High School and involved with Future Farmers of America and Future Educators of America.

Kari Cottingim

NORTH MANCHESTER, INDIANA – A student from Eaton graduated Sunday, May 17, from Manchester University. It conferred degrees to 252 students.

Area students graduating include: Kari Cottingim of Eaton, bachelor’s degree in English.

Adam Tolliver

Adam Tolliver of Eaton, received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree during Ashland University commencement ceremonies on May 9. Tolliver majored in middle grades education with concentrations in language arts and social science. He is the son of Ty and Ann Tolliver of Eaton. Tolliver is a 2011 graduate of Eaton High School.

Ryan Sills

Ryan D. Sills, a graduate of Eaton High School, received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology at Purdue University College of Technology-Richmond’s 47th Commencement Ceremony, held on May 15. During his time at Purdue-Richmond, Sills made the Dean’s List and concentrated his studies on the mechanical/electric aspect of engineering. Sills works at TBK America in Richmond and hopes to find a rewarding career with his bachelor’s degree. He is the son of Doug and Cindy Sills of Eaton.
