Seven contestants participated in the 2014 Junior Fair Talent Show on Sunday, July 27, with Mallory Deaton, 11, coming in first place with her clogging routine.

Three judges critiqued the routines, which also included singing, ballet, hula hooping and miming.

Hannah Cline, who sang in the talent show the past two years, is the chair of the Talent Show Committee. She said she likes the community support the show creates.

“I love how the community comes together and watches them,” Hannah Cline said.

Hannah Cline’s mother Gretchen Cline, who helped out some with the talent show, said she thinks the show went smoothly.

“I think it went really well,” Gretchen Cline said.

Gretchen Cline said she especially enjoyed watching the ballet routine.

Talent show winner Deaton said she has been clogging for five years. This is her third year participating in the talent show and her third year coming in first. She said she wasn’t very nervous to perform because she has been dancing since she was two.

“It’s fun,” Deaton said. “I love dance.”
