The Village of Lewisburg Council members discussed various topics on Thursday, Jan. 16.
To begin their meeting, members welcomed their newest member, Denis Roberts, who left the Planning Committee to join the Council.
Members also sent their condolences to the family of Don Cummins, who passed away. Cummins was active on the Park Board and the car show committee.
Members of the Council heard plans regarding fixing problematic pavement areas in the intersection of Clay and Singer Streets. Plans include grinding away cracked asphalt and filling it with new asphalt.
Members also discussed placing the renewal of a tax levy on the ballot for the November 2014 general election. It is council’s goal that this levy will raise the same amount of tax dollars as the amount it had raised when it was originally on the ballot.
According to Village Administrator Jeff Sewert, the Pratt Project will be quoted for pricing, which will involve a handheld device to read water meters more quickly and efficiently. Council members approved Sewert’s process of quoting prices.
