Preble County Commissioners met Wednesday, Jan. 8 to discuss a variety of topics.


Among the business of the day:


*The Board did not approve Zoning Case #1352 regarding a land matter for Diana Kuck. Kuck had proposed to build another home on her 2.07 acre lot. It was noted that Diana Kuck has no relation to Donna Kuck.


*The Board approved Resolution #50, the authorization of the expenditure of $26,655.00 for the purchase of 500 tons of deicing salt for the Engineer’s Office


*The Board noted reciept of a letter from the Sheriff regarding a pay rate adjustments for Sarah Driver, Linda Moore, Julie Rose, and Nancy Black.


*The Board noted receipt of a letter from the Sheriff regarging the contracted pay rate adjustment for Alisha McWhitey from the Sherriff’s Department


*The Board noted receipt of a letter from the County Engineer regarding a pay rate adjustment for Cullen Zelachowski from the Engineering Department


*The Board noted receipt of a report from the Sheriff’s Office regarding the Monthly Jail Report for December 2013.


*The Board noted receipt and signed a letter to the payroll clerk regarding the probationary rate adjustment for Derek Duffie from the Landfill Department


*The Board noted reciept of a letter from Michael Harris from the Ohio EPA regarding Preble County Co. Sanitary Landfill Permit.


*The Board noted receipt and approved the appointment of Don Popp as 2014 County Apiary Inspector.


*The Board noted receipt and approved the 2014 service agreement with Koorsen Fire and Security for $865.


*The Board noted receipt and signed a contract regarding legal services IV-D contract with Mary Ditmer for $55,038.50


*The Board noted receipt and approved by signing an agreement for the Fiscal Year 2014 maintenance and repair of used oil furnace with Gingerich’s Clean Burn for $1,800 for the County Engineer


*The Board noted receipt and signed an agreement regarding Cops III and Juvenile Software Maintenance agreement with Text and Data Technologies, Inc. for $3,100 for the Prosecuting Attorney.


*The Board approved $1,900 for the Fiscal Year 2014 for a contract with Clean Carpet Care for the Engineer’s Office.


*The Board approved Zoning Case #1354 regarding Darren Murray’s real property on his 1.11 acre parcel where Denise Eversole will purchase the rental property. Murray will build a house on his land.


*The Board approved Zoning Case #1357 regarding Emil Lipps’ 19 acre farm. There will now be two properties on his lot.
