TV Rod and Gun Club
Venison for Food Banks
The Twin Valley Rod and Gun Club semi-annual Turkey Shoot takes place every Sunday through April 21, 2014. Starting time is 1 p.m. This event is open to everyone and we hope to see a nice crowd. This is our main fundraiser each year. Come on out and win turkeys, hams, bacon and packages of mixed kinds of meat. Money shoots are also held.
The Venison for Food Banks of Preble County program is on-going. Anyone who takes a deer can donate all or part of the meat for the Foodbanks. We have sponsors who will take care of the processing fees. You may contact Brad Turner, Preble County Game Warden, or Curtis Early at 937-533-3226.
The Foodbank will provide a holiday basket and children’s gifts for families who qualify and live in the Twin Valley School District. This holiday season we invite everyone to learn more about the Foodbank ministry and become a partnership with us in sharing the “spirit of giving.” You may do this by adopting a family, providing an item for the holiday baskets, or making a donation to the Foodbank. You may contact the Foodbank at 839-1615. Hours are Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at St. John Church, 20 East South Street.
Items needed are tuna, egg noodles, pork & beans, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, chicken noodle soup, and shampoo. Foodbank Sunday is the first Sunday of each month at Salem and St. John Lutheran Churches where non-perishables, that are not expired, can also be donated.
