Today (this article is written seven days before publication), it is raining with a forecast of rain for Friday, also. Do we want green grass, trees and flowers in Lakengren this spring and summer? You bet, so we must enjoy the raindrops that Mother Nature provides.
Women’s Club Traveled
Last Wednesday, a couple dozen members of the Lakengren Women’s Club motored to Springboro to enjoy a stage play at the La Comedia Dinner Theatre. You could see all the ladies mouthing the words to the likes of “A Sign of the Times, California Girls, and New Attitude.”
Those 25 plus popular song hits gave the cast of four women a chance of all those watching and sympathizing in the audience to capture the most hilarious musical comedy called “Menopause the Musical.” At the finale, several LWC member joined the cast on stage to do a kick line with the stars.
ODNR Goose Control
Are you bothered by the Canadian geese on your Lakengren lot or have these native waterfowl become a nuisance?
Come to the Lodge on April 12 at 10 a.m. to a meeting to discuss the possibility of starting a volunteer goose patrol to rid some of the geese that are creating a mess within Lakengren’s recreational areas and private properties. Paul Healy suggests you tap in to the ODNR website on geese prior to this meeting. You may call Healy at 456-3387 for more information about non-lethal tactics available.

Live Music at Lodge
The A & E Committee (activities and entertainment) are sponsoring “Live Music at the Lodge” on Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m. This special event is hosted by Weddle Worley and it is an Open Mic, so bring your instruments and voices.
Musicians should sign up upon arrival. This evening should be a blast. Feel free to bring snacks and your beverage of choice. With a little bit of luck, the weather should be warmer and we will open the doors and allow the musical notes to flow.
