The members of the West Elkton-Gratis Township Fire Association wish to thank everyone who made their annual pancake breakfast and television raffle a success. The money made will go to offset expenses for equipment.
Play sets record
Dorothy in Wonderland was a huge success and was attended by a record crowd of over 700. All the students and directors did a great job again this year.
Sandy Ferguson of Camden was the winner of the heater raffled off by the Preble Shawnee boys’ soccer team. Thanks to everyone who purchased tickets.
The Gratis Days Carnival will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 29-31 on the streets of town. “Happy H” Amusements will be featured for their first trip to Gratis, promising a show never seen there. Live music and big time wrestling are also planned. They are looking for vendors from area organizations to set up booths with food and games, etc. Anyone interested may call the village office at 937-787-3728, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Friday, and leave a message for Councilman/Chairman Rod Forrer.
