Eaton Library Lego Building Contest

Show off your Master Builder skills at the Eaton Library on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. You can win a prize for the best builder in three different age groups for grades K-1, 2-3, and 4-5. You’ll have one hour to finish. Light refreshments will be available. You must bring your own Legos, and all bricks must be separated before building.

Tween-tivities

For ages 8-12, we have programs at each library branch in November that may include crafts, games, or other fun activities with an autumn theme. Catch tween-tivities at your local library:

Tasty Tales presented by Cooking Caravan

What goes best with books and songs? Tasty snacks, of course! Cooking Caravan will visit the libraries and share their Tasty Tales program, which includes an awesome story, interactive songs, and a tasty snack to tie it all together! Here’s the schedule:

Tim Burton Halloween

Get ready for Halloween with Tim Burton-themed crafts and a popcorn bar! The teen program for grades 6-12 will be at:

Anime Club: Ninjas

For grades 6-12: watch anime, try Japanese snacks, play ninja video games and make edible fondant ninjas at the Eaton Library on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m. Registration is required. Sign up at the Eaton Library front desk or call (937) 456-4331.

Minecraft Mania!

Play Minecraft on the Xbox 360 and on the Wii U at the Eaton Library on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 3:30 p.m. We’ll have snacks, too. Minecraft Mania is for teens in grades 6-12, and you must register at the library or call (937) 456-4331 to ensure your spot.

Zelda and NES Classic Gaming

Teens in grades 6-12: Compete in Nintendo Land’s Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest and try the original Legend of Zelda on the library’s new NES Classic console! You can also make Zelda crafts and eat Zelda snacks and enter to win a Link plush as a door prize at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Eaton Library. Registration required. Genealogy Lock-In

The Preble County Room’s semi-annual Night Owl Prowl genealogy lock-in returns on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 5-10 p.m. Researchers will provide you free assistance with the library’s collection of local history, as well as the library’s online genealogy databases.

Creative writing group

The Eaton Library’s Creative Writers Group for adults meets every second Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. Bring a written piece to share if you like. We’ll provide writing activities and prompts for a little extra inspiration. The next meeting of the group is Thursday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m.

Sighting Bigfoot!

Learn more about the search for Bigfoot from Mike Miller and Mike Feltner of the Ohio Night Stalkers. You’ll hear about tracking Bigfoot in Ohio and some recent sightings in the area. The Ohio Night Stalkers will bring some audio and video recordings. Join us Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Eaton Library.

Book Angels adult craft

Recycle books with a few simple folds, rolled magazine pages, and hot glue to make an angel for holiday décor or as a gift. Here’s the schedule:
