Oktoberfest Queen

Congratulations to 2016 Oktoberfest Queen Samantha Bezich, first runner-up Audrey Chesney and second runner-up Chyann Kendel. Other candidates included: Emma Fergus, Abby Bailey, Kelsie Shafer, Autumn Newdigate, Haley Back and Samantha Shank.

American Legion

The Kids’ Halloween Party will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, from 6-8 p.m. at the Legion Hall.

The Senior Fun Bunch meets every Thursday from 1-4 p.m. for music and dancing.

Euchre every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. with a 50/50 raffle.

Beggars’ Night

West Alexandria Trick or Treat will be Monday, Oct. 31, from 6-7:30 p.m. There will be a costume parade starting at the LCNB bank, 55 E. Dayton Street, at 5:15p.m. A costume contest, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club will begin at 5:30 p.m. across from the Town Hall. There are prizes for children twelve and under, divided into three age groups and three categories.

Foodbank

The Foodbank served 66 families during September. This includes 24 seniors, 93 children and totaled 250 individuals. Needs are spaghetti and sauce, mac & cheese, pancake syrup, tuna, shampoo, and toothpaste. The Foodbank is open from 10a.m. to noon on Mondays and Wednesdays and is located at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Contact the Foodbank at 839-1615 for additional information. Non-perishable donations can also be dropped off at St. John Lutheran Ingomar and Salem Lutheran Church on the first Sunday of each month.

St. John Lutheran Church Ingomar

Due to various sports tournaments in the area during the last two weekends in October, St. John Lutheran, Ingomar is cancelling their Trunk or Treat scheduled for Oct. 23. We look forward to hosting the event again next year.
