Suspects sought in shooting

OXFORD — On Wednesday, Oxford law enforcement was searching for suspects in a double shooting incident which happened on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

At approximately 7:44 p.m. Tuesday, the Oxford Police Department and Oxford Fire Department were dispatched to 210 N. Campus Ave. in the city on a reported shooting, according to an OPD press release.

Oxford Police officers with the assistance of Miami University Police officers arrived on the scene to find two victims with non-life threatening gunshot wounds to their legs, officials reported. The first victim was transported to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released and the second victim was transported to West Chester Hospital, according to the release.

OPD noted, it was reported to arriving officers that “two male suspects came to the house to complete a prior arranged sale of a vehicle.” During the transaction, officials said, one suspect pulled out a firearm and fired three rounds at the victims.

The suspects then fled the area in an unknown direction with an undetermined amount of cash.

Suspect number one was described as a while male with a dark complexion, approximately 5’10” and 150 pounds.

Suspect number two was described as a black male with “dreadlock-style” hair, approximately 5’11” and 190 pounds.

According to the OPD, preliminary investigation indicated “this offense was not a random act and that the victims were specifically targeted.”
