EATON — The Preble County Art Association and the Preble County Pork Festival have teamed up once again to present Oinkers for Art.

Pigs are being painted on Aug. 27, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Eaton Earlybird Farmer’s Market.

Selected teams this year include: Essence of Wellness, Preble Trails, Preble County District Library, Summit Chiropractic, Blue Star Mothers of America, Greenbriar Senior Campus, Spicy Bois, and painter Hannah Wojcik.

Painted pigs will be displayed along the parade route, then it is off to the races as they will be moved to the fair grounds in front of the Rotary Junction for voting on Saturday, Sept. 17.

The winning pig will earn its painter $100, with second place earning $75, and third earning $50. Winners are determined by votes earned at the Pork Festival. Each pig will have its own penny voting bin where voters can cast a few cents or a few bucks for their favorite pig. All pigs will be up for auction on the Sept. 17, at Rotary Junction immediately following the announcement of awards at 5 p.m.

Call 937-456-3999 or stop in at 601 Hillcrest Drive. The center is open 1-6 p.m., Tuesday to Friday and until 8 p.m. on Thursdays. The Visual Art Center is operated by the Preble County Art Association. Visit www.takepartinart.net to learn more about the Art Association.
