Man indicted for rape

EATON — Trial for an Eaton man charged with attempted rape and gross sexual imposition has been set for Monday, Sept. 19, at 8:30 a.m.

According to court records, Matthew R. Perry, 24, 728 E. Somers St., was arraigned on Friday, Aug. 5. He had been indicted on Monday, Aug. 1, on a charge of attempted rape, a second-degree felony, and gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony. Police reports indicate the charges stem from Perry’s alleged attempt to rape a minor in Eaton.

During a Monday, Aug. 1, session, a Preble County grand jury also returned indictments on:

Bradley Tyler Weinsteiger, 980 S. Barron St., Eaton, possession of heroin; Taylor Marie Harvey, 1315 S. Salem Road, Liberty, Indiana, possession of heroin, possessing drug abuse instruments; Kurtis Andrew Brown, 208 Walnut St., Eaton, breaking and entering, petty theft, obstructing official business; Daniel L. Taulbee, 3911 U.S. 35 West, Eaton, failure to comply with an order or signal of an officer.

Also: Steven A. Hager, 21 E. South Street, West Alexandria, aggravated possession of drugs (two counts) and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia; Jordan Levi Grubbs, Warsaw, Indiana, failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, abduction, aggravated possession of drugs, possessing drug abuse instruments, and possession of marijuana; Joanna Bailey, 28 Lakengren Drive, Eaton, corrupting another with drugs, possession of heroin and tampering with evidence and Jose Estrada, Pinedale, Wyoming, possessing criminal tools, aggravated possession of drugs, and aggravated trafficking in drugs with two specifications.
