Public safety: Oxford police reports

OXFORD — The Oxford Division of Police filed the following recent incident reports:

June 27

Victim came to OPD to report ongoing problem with her husband.

June 28

Female victim of an assault reported being assaulted by a known subject.

Resident at 417 W. Chesnut Street reported finding tire tracks in yard when he got home from work.

June 29

Male came to store at 4985 asking for refund for glasses he picked up inside the store. Appeared to be covering for a female who shoplifted three snack items from shelving.

June 30

Unknown person(s) forcibly broke a ground floor window and entered the residence at 103 W. Vine Street. Suspect then lit mail on fire on gas stove and left the residence. No person of interest at this time.

July 1

Subjects at 411 Maxine Drive reported someone took their mail from their mail box sometime during the night and tossed it out into the yard.

Female reported that on June 24, sometime during the night items were taken from her vehicle while parked in her drive at 115 Kelly Drive.

July 2

Male victim reported two unauthorized transactions on his Fifth Third Bank Master Card. He believes a skimmer on an ATM machine at a local gas station to be the cause. An inspection of the ATM was performed and no skimming devices were found.

Caretaker of 5170 Brown Road reported someone entered the house through an unlocked bathroom window and placed an aerosol can on one of the burners of t he stove while it was turned on, then left.

July 5

Damage was done to a front door at 5032 College Corner Pike after officers forced entry for a welfare check.

Officers responded to 5032 College Corner Pike concerning an assault and attempted theft.

July 6

Officers dispatched to Elms Hotel, 75 S. Main St., on a report of a disorderly male. Suspect was identified and found in possession of a suspected controlled substance.

Female reported suspicious solicitors in her neighborhood, around 11 S. Poplar St.

July 7

Holy Trinity Episcopal Church reported a break-in.

Officer responded to 119 Ardmore Drive on a report of damage to the home.

July 8

Residents at 304 Miami Trail reported sometime during the night someone opened their mail box along with several others in the neighborhood.

TJ Maxx loss prevention officer reported shoplifting offense.

Victim reported being scammed on Craigslist.

Officer responded to 40 Harvest Court on a report of vandalism. Victim’s vehicle fuel door was damaged.

July 9

Residents at 310 E. Church St. reported two lawn chairs were stolen from their back porch while they were on vacation.

July 10

While responding to a noise complaint at 1406 Oxford Commons, a subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
